IMPORTANT:-
Please read all the instructions in this notification carefully and ensure that you are
eligible to apply before filling the application form Online. Detailed instructions for
filling up ONLINE applications are available on the RRC-NCR website-
https://www.rrcpryj.org
Applicants are advised in their own interest to submit Online Application much
before the closing date to avoid possibility of any failure to submit application due to
heavy load/jam on website.
In case the Applicant does not have a VALID personal e-mail ID he/she should create
his / her own e-mail ID before applying online application and must maintain that e-
mail ID till the end of engagement process.
This is a Centralized Notification for engagement of Act Apprentices under the
Apprentices Act 1961 being conducted by Railway Recruitment Cell, North Central
Railway (RRC-NCR/ PRYJ) has been nominated as nodal agency for obtaining ONLINE
applications from Applicants across the Nation.
Applicants can submit their applications ONLINE only on RRC’s website
https://www.rrcpryj.org. The candidature of the Applicants will be considered only
on the basis of the information filled in the ONLINE application.
In case of Direct Recruitment from Open Market to Posts / Categories in Level – 1 (Rs.
18,000/- - Rs. 56,900/-), Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAA) trained in Railway
Establishments and possessing National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) will be
given preference in filling up 20% vacancies on qualifying the requisite norms notified
by RRB/RRC.
1. North central Railway invites ONLINE applications from interested Applicants for
engagement as Act Apprentices against the 1679 slots notified for training in the
designated Trades under Apprentice Act 1961 at various Divisions, Workshops
within the jurisdiction of North Central Railways (Divisions - Prayagraj, Agra, Jhansi
& Jhansi workshop) for the year 2024-25.
2. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:-
(A) AGE CRITERIA as on 15/10/2024 (Closing Date):-
2.1 The Applicants should have completed 15 years of age and should not have
completed 24 years of age as on 15/10/2024.
2.2 SC/ST/OBC- Upper age limit is relax able by 05 years in case of SC/ST applicants and
03 years in case of OBC Applicants.

2.3 Persons with Disability (PWD):- Upper age limit is relaxed by 10 years.
2.4 Ex-servicemen- Upper age limit is relaxed up to additional 10 years for ex-servicemen
to the extent of service rendered in Defence Forces plus 03 years provided they have
put in a minimum of 6 months service at a stretch, except Ex-servicemen who have
already joined the Govt. service on Civil side after availing the Ex-service men status
for the purpose of their engagement.
I. Ex-Servicemen:- An Ex-servicemen Applicants selected under the reservation
provided for them will be placed in the appropriate category viz. UR/SC/ST/OBC
to which he belongs.
II. Ex-servicemen, their children and children of Armed Force personnel will be
engaged for Apprenticeship as per details mentioned below :-
a) Children of deceased/disabled Ex-servicemen Including those killed /
disabled during peace time.
b) Children of Ex-servicemen.
c) Children of Serving Men.
d) Children of Serving Officer.
e) Ex-Servicemen

B) ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS :- The Applicants should have already passed the
prescribed Qualification on the date of issue of this Notification i.e. 14.09.2024 as
under :-
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:- The candidate must have passed
SSC/Matriculation/10th class examination or its equivalent (under 10+2 examination
system) with minimum 50% marks, in aggregate, from recognized Board and must have
passed ITI in relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT recognized by Government of India.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:-ITI certificate/ National Trade Certificate affiliated to
NCVT / SCVT is compulsory in relevant trade as under:-

NOTE:-
1. The Applicants whose SSC / Matriculation/ 10
th
and ITI results are awaited as on the Date of
Notification i.e. 14.09.2024 are not eligible to apply.
2. The Applicants failed in ITI should not apply, in case any failed Applicants is engaged
inadvertently, he/she will be terminated summarily from apprenticeship training without any
further notice and stipend will be recovered with interest.
3. Engineering Graduates and Diploma holders are not eligible to apply for Apprenticeship in
response to this notification as they are governed by a separate scheme of Apprenticeship.
3. TRADE WISE SLOTS:
The details of Trade wise and Division/ Workshop wise, number of Applicants to be
engaged for training as Act Apprentices along with the break-up of reservation for
applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC/EWS categories and for PWD’s/Ex- Servicemen
are furnished in Annexure “A”.
NOTE:

3.1 The number of training slots shown in this Notification are provisional and the same
are liable to increase or decrease depending upon the actual needs of the
Administration at the time of finalization of selection.
3.2 There will be a reservation to the extent of 4% for Persons with Disabilities (PwBD)
and 3% for Ex-Servicemen. The quota slots in the said categories are included in
the overall slots and hence are not to be filled up outside the notified slots.
3.3 The Applicants who want to avail the benefit of reservation of Ex-servicemen and
Armed Forces Personnel and in case of children of Ex-servicemen and children of
Armed Forces Personnel, they must upload Discharge certificate or Armed Forces
Serving Certificate respectively (as the case may be) of his/her parents at the time of
online application.
3.4 For SC slots, when the prescribed numbers of persons belonging to the SC are not
available, it will be filled by ST Applicants. For ST slots, in case ST Applicants are not
available, they will be filled by SC Applicants. If the prescribed training slots for SC/ST
Applicants cannot be filled even in the above given manner, then the training slots so
lying unfilled will be filled by persons not belonging to the Scheduled Castes or the
Scheduled Tribes i.e. Unreserved Applicants. Similarly, the seats remaining unfilled
by OBC Applicants will be filled by Applicants of unreserved category.
3.5 In terms of para-10 of Schedule V of the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, notified on
15.07.92 by the Ministry of Labor, it shall not be obligatory on the part of the
employer to offer any employment to the Apprentice on completion of period of
his/her apprenticeship training in his / her establishment. It shall not be obligatory
on the part of the apprentice to accept an employment under the employer.
Imparting Training in Railway will not confer any right to the candidates for their
absorption in Railway after completion of Training.
3.6 The Applicants who want to avail the benefit of reservation of SC/ST, must upload
his/her Caste certificate on Central Government format only issued by appropriate
authority according to Annexure – “B” at the time of online application.
3.7 OBC Applicants are required upload OBC Caste Certificate with Non-Creamy layer
certificate valid for the current year 2024-2025 in Central Government format (as per
Annexure - “C”) issued on or after 01/04/2024 by the Competent Authority.
Certificates should indicate Caste, Date of Issue etc. and bear the Seal of the Issuing
Authority. They are also required to invariably fill and upload the Self-declaration
form regarding current status of Non-Creamy Layer as per Annexure - “D”
However, they are advised to apply for latest OBC certificate with Non-Creamy Layer
certificate valid for the current year 2024-2025 so that it can be available for
submission at the time of Document Verification.
3.8 Reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)
Candidates who are not covered under the scheme of reservation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL
and whose family has gross annual income below Rs. 8.00 Lakh (Rupees Eight Lakhs
Only) are to be identified as EWS for benefit of reservation for EWS. The income shall
also include income from all sources i.e. salary, agriculture, business, profession etc
for the financial year prior to the year of Application.

The benefit of reservation under EWS can be availed upon production of an Income
and Asset Certificate issued by a Competent Authority. The Income Asset Certificate
issued by any one of the following authorities in the prescribed format as given in
Annexure - “G” shall only be accepted as candidate’s claim as belonging to EWS.
a. District Magistrate / Addl. District Magistrate / Collector / Deputy Commissioner /
Addl. Deputy Commissioner / Sub-Divisional Magistrate / Taluka Magistrate /
Executive Magistrate / Extra Assistant commissioner.
b. Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar.
c. Sub-Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and/or his family normally
reside.
The candidates applying against the vacancies reserved for EWS must possess Income
and Asset Certificate as on closing date of Registration of application for this
Notification.
4. PAYMENT OF FEES:-
4.1. Application fees (Non-refundable) – Rs. 100/-.
4.2 No fee is required to be paid by SC/ST/PWD/Women Applicants.
4.3. Fee payment will have to be made online through payment gateway as part
of online application process as under:-
i. Complete filling the online application in all respects at RRC-NCR’s website
www.rrcpryj.org
ii. After ensuring the correctness of the particulars of the application form, Applicants
are required to pay fees through the payment gateway integrated with the online
application. No change/edit will be allowed thereafter.
iii. The payment can be made by using Debit Card / Credit Card / Internet Banking etc.
by providing information as asked on the screen. Transaction charges for online
payment, if any, will be borne by the Applicants.
iv. Once the payment is successfully done, Applicants will be redirected to RRC-NCR’s
website to complete the application process and download the application form.
v. In case the Applicants makes the payment and faces any issues like loss of internet
connection due to which the Applicant is unable to download the application though
the fee amount has been deducted from their Account/Debit/Credit Card, please click
on “Verify Payment” button to reconfirm the same from the Payment gateway.
vi. In case after completing the Registration process, the online transaction is not
successfully completed, please login again and make the online payment again.
Duplication, in payment, if any will be refunded on verifying the same.
5. MEDICAL FITNESS & PHYSICAL STANDARDS:-
5.1 Selected candidates called For Documents Verification will have to submit Medical
Certificates in the prescribed Proforma enclosed at Annexure “H”. The Medical
Certificate should be signed by Government authorized Doctor (Gaz), not below the
rank of Assistant Surgeon of Central/State Hospital.
5.2 For differently abled applicants/persons with Disability (PWD) the maximum
Disability is detailed category wise & Trade wise as under:

5.3. Person with Disability (PWD) who wants to avail the benefit of reservation must
produce a Disability certificate issued by a competent authority (i.e. Medical Board
duly constituted by the Central or State Government including one specialist in the
particular field for assessing disability). Disability Certificate should be strictly as per
the Annexure – “E” & “F” attached.
5.4 Persons with Disabilities (PWD) other that those mentioned above should not apply
as PWD as they will not be eligible for such concessions/facilities.

6. MODE OF SELECTION :-
6.1 Selection of the eligible Applicants for imparting training under the Apprentice Act,
1961 will be based on the merit list which would be prepared taking the average of
the percentage of marks obtained by the Applicants in both Matriculation [with
minimum 50% (aggregate) marks] and ITI examination giving equal weight age to
both.
6.2 Short listed candidates, thus enlisted, will be called for document/ certificate
verification to the extent of 1.5 times of the notified vacancies.
6.3 In case of two applicant having the same marks, the applicants having older age shall
be preferred. In case the dates of birth are also same, then the· Applicants who passed
matriculation exam earlier shall be considered first. There will be no written test or
viva.
6.4 Final merit list will be prepared Unit wise, Trade wise & Community wise equal to the
number of slots in the descending order of percentage of marks obtained by the
candidate.
6.5 Applicants need not send any copies of application / certificates / documents to RRC-
NCR by post but have to upload the same online.
6.6 Calculation of Marks:-
a. For the purpose of calculation of percentage of SSC / Matriculation marks Total Marks
of all Subjects mentioned in the Mark sheet. (Not best of five but total of all subjects
including optional subject / additional subject / alternate subject, etc). CGPA obtained
by the applicants should be converted to actual marks and duly entered by the
applicant in the online application. Please note that the final score should be
calculated by adding the marks of all subjects not of any group of subjects.
b. For the purpose of calculation of percentage of ITI marks, average marks mentioned
in consolidated statement of marks for all semesters of the trade applied i.e. Marks
mentioned in the Provisional National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT/SCVT, which
is to be duly entered by the applicant in the online application will only be reckoned.
c. The applicant should note that in case any discrepancy in the Marks/CGPA entered in
the online application and the Original Mark sheet / Certificate, is found at the time
of Document Verification, the candidature of the Applicants will be rejected
summarily.
6.7 The Trade wise/ Community wise Merit List will be issued by NCR for their notified
slots. Applicants will be called by NCR as per the Merit in the relevant trade
considering the Divisions/ Workshop opted by the candidate. In case of any shortfall
in any particular trade in any given Division/Workshop. North Central Railway reserves
the right to Re-distribute the candidates to other Divisions/Workshops.
6.8 Final selection of Applicants would be subject to verification of original testimonials
and Medical Fitness Certificate as per Annexure “H”.
6.9 Candidates in the Standby list will be issued Call Letters on the basis of details of
absentees, medically unfit and rejected candidates from the Merit list allotted to the
concerned Divisions / Workshop. The Call letters will be issued strictly in the order of
Merit.

6.10 The Tentative Schedule will be uploaded on our Website www.rrcpryj.org considering
the pandemic situation at that time. Applicants are advised to be in readiness at short
notice to report for Documents / Certificate Verification.
7. TRAINING PERIOD &STIPEND: -
7.1 Training Period:-
The selected Applicants are required to undergo apprenticeship training for a period
of 01 (ONE) year.
7.2 Stipend:-
Selected Candidates engaged as Apprentices will undergo Apprenticeship training for
a period of one year and will be paid a Stipend during the training at the prescribed
rate as per extant rules governed by the concerned State Governments.
8. MODE OF APPLICATION:-
8.1. Applicants are required to apply ONLINE by visiting www.rrcpryj.org. Detailed
instructions for filling up ONLINE applications will be available on the website.
8.2 Applicants are required to fill up the personal details Aadhar number / PAN number/
Marks / CGPA / Preferences for Divisions / Workshops/ Trade etc., very carefully as
the Computerized Merit list will be prepared only on the basis of the information
filled by the Applicant in the ONLINE application. In case of any discrepancy observed
at the time of Document Verification, the Applicant will be disqualified summarily.
8.3 Applicants should be in possession of Aadhar Card. At the time of registration,
Applicants have to fill 12 Digit Aadhar Card number. The Applicants not having Aadhar
number and have enrolled for Aadhar but have not received Aadhar Card can enter
28 digits Aadhar Enrolment ID printed on the Aadhar Enrolment slip.
8.4 This provision is applicable to the Applicants of all states and Union Territories of
India. Applicants have to produce original Aadhar card or documents mentioned as
above, at the time of Document Verification.
8.5 Applicants should ensure their name, father’s name, date of birth should exactly
match as recorded in Matriculation or equivalent certificate. Any deviation found
during Document Verification will lead to cancellation of candidature and also
debarment.
8.6 Applicants are advised to indicate their active mobile number and valid e-mail ID in
the ONLINE application and keep them active during the entire engagement process
as all important messages will be notified on website and email / SMS will be sent
only to the selected Applicants which will be treated as deemed to have been read
by the Applicants.
8.7 Choice of only one Division / Workshop is permitted. Option once exercised is FINAL
and binding to the candidates. Applicants are instructed to check Trade wise vacancy
table (Annexure “A”) to ascertain the vacancies notified and ensure that the Division
/ Workshop they wish to apply is having vacancies as per their Trade / Qualification /
Community / Category.
8.8 Applicants possessing ITI qualification in more than one trade can apply for different
relevant trades separately.

8.9 Applicants trying to submit more than one application for the same TRADE with
different particulars like Name / Father’s name / Community / PWD / Educational and
/ or Technical Qualification etc. or with different Email ID / Mobile Number are
informed that all such applications will be summarily rejected.
8.10 Applicants have to download printouts of their online application which should be
produced as and when required by the Railway Administration.
8.11 Applicants are required to report for Document / Certificate Verification with their
Originals along with Medical Fitness Certificate (Annexure-H) in the concerned
Division / Workshop / Unit.
8.12 Applicants are required to upload their EWS Certificate as mentioned at Para 3.7 if he
/ she is claiming against EWS Quota.
9. DOCUMENTS TO BE UPLOADED:-
Applicants are required to upload the legible self-attested scanned copy of following
documents:-
Certificates in PDF Format having file size 50 kb to 200 kb
9.1 SSC (Standard 10th) or its equivalent Mark Sheet.
9.2 Certificate for proof of date of birth (Standard 10 or its equivalent certificate or mark
sheet indicating date of birth or School Leaving Certificate indicating date of birth).
9.3 Consolidated ITI mark Sheet of all semesters of the trade in which applied /
Provisional National Trade Certificate indicating marks.
9.4 National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT or Provisional National Trade Certificate
issued by NCVT / SCVT.
9.5 Caste certificate for SC/ST/OBC Applicants in Annexure “B”, “C” & “Dwherever
applicable, EWS Certificate in Annexure G” ,if applicable as mentioned in Para
3.5.3.6 & 3.7
9.6 Disability certificate, in case of PwBD Applicants Annexure – “E” & “F” (as applicable).
9.7 Discharge certificate / Serving certificate, in case of Applicants applied against Ex-
Servicemen quota.
9.8 Candidates to note that all relevant certificates of education i.e SSC/ Matriculation/
10th Pass & ITI trade certificate issued by NCVT/ SCVT with mark sheets,
SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-SM etc. are to be uploaded with online application form.
Original Certificates are not to be sent to RRC/NCR and the same are required at the
time of Document Verification failing which applicant shall not be allowed to
participate in the selection process.
9.9 Applicants are required to upload Scanned copy/ soft copy of their colour photograph
(size 3.5 cm x 3.5 cm ) taken not later than three months from the date of application,
JPG / JPEG format, 100 DPI, size of the file should be between 20 KB -70 KB) with clear
front view of the Applicants without cap and sunglasses. Applicants may note that
RRC may, at any stage, reject the applications for uploading old/unclear photograph
or for any significant variations between photograph uploaded in the Application
Form and the actual Physical appearance of the Applicants. Applicants are advised to
keep two additional copies of the same photograph ready with them and carry the
same at the time of Document / Certificate Verification.

9.10 Applicants are also required to upload the Scanned copy / soft copy their signature
(size 3.5 cm x 3.5 cm, JPG / JPEG format, 100 DPI, size of the file should be between
20 KB – 30 KB).
9.11 The Railway Administration does not undertake any responsibility for sending reply
to the candidates not selected or not called for. No correspondence in respect of the
application submitted shall be entertained or replied by this office to any individual
or organization. However, any such representation will be considered on its merit
only.
NOTE:-
1. Certificates in languages other than English or Hindi should be accompanied by an
attested copy of translation in English / Hindi.
2. Production of Originals of uploaded documents along with 2 self-attested
photocopies on the day of Document Verification in the Concerned Division is
mandatory. Applications without requisite enclosures uploaded will be summarily
rejected and no additional document will be accepted during the Document
Verification.
9.10 Income & Asset Certificate (Annexure – ‘G’) to be uploaded by Economically Weaker
Section wherever applicable.
10. INVALID APPLICATIONS / REJECTIONS:
Applicants are required to carefully fill in the correct details and upload all relevant
documents else applications with the following short comings/irregularities will be
rejected at the time of Document Verification:-
(i) Applications without scanned Signature & scanned Photograph.
(ii) Application with scanned photo but wearing Goggles or with cap or with wig or
coloured glasses or disfigured / small size or unrecognizable.
(iii) Not possessing the prescribed Matriculation and ITI Qualification for the relevant
Trade on the date of submission of application.
(iv) Application without valid Community certificate in the Central Government format
and from the appropriate authority as per Annexure – “B”, “C” & “D”
(v) Relevant certificates as proof for claiming age relaxation or fee relaxation if any
wherever claimed.
(vi) Applications without proof of age.
(vii) Applications of over-aged or under-aged Applicants and also where date of birth
certificates uploaded are illegible, date not filled in or wrongly filled.
(viii) Incorrect / Incomplete applications in any form as and when detected, is liable to be
rejected.
(ix) Multiple Applications with minor changes of information and / or facts or varied
details for same Trade.
(x) Applications without examination fee of Rs. 100/-, wherever applicable or less fee.
(xi) Any other form of irregularities as observed and considered as invalid by RRC-NCR.
(xii) Applications without relevant legible Annexure as per Para 9 above.
11. AGREEMENT OF TRAINING:-
The entire training program under the Apprentices Act, 1961 is controlled by the
provisions of the Apprenticeship Contract between the employer and the Apprentice.
The Apprenticeship contract or agreement should be sent to the Apprenticeship
Adviser for registration within three months of the date on which it was signed:-

11.1 Before commencement of the Apprenticeship training in the designated trade, the
selected Applicants have to enter into a Contract of Apprenticeship Training with the
laid down provisions.
11.2 Where the Contract of Apprenticeship is terminated through failure on the part of
the employer in carrying out the terms and conditions of the contract (as notified
under the Apprenticeship Rules 1992), Applicants will be paid Apprentice
compensation as prescribed i.e. such employer shall be liable to pay the Apprentice
compensation an amount equivalent to his three months last drawn stipend;
11.3 In the event of premature termination of Contract of Apprenticeship for failure on
the part of Apprentice to carry out the terms and conditions of the contract (as
notified under the Apprenticeship Rules 1992), the Applicants / Surety has to pay
such amount as is determined by the Apprenticeship Adviser towards the cost of
training. A training cost of an amount equivalent to his three months last drawn
stipend shall be made recoverable from such Apprentice or from his guardian in case
he is minor.
11.4 As per the Act, It is not obligatory on the part of employer to offer any employment
to the passed out Trade Apprentice on completion of the period of Apprenticeship
Training in his establishment. Accordingly, the Act Apprentices imparted training in
Railway establishments, will have no claim to seek employment on Railways on the
basis of such training nor shall it be obligatory on the part of the Apprentice to accept
an employment under the employer.
11.5 In case, the selected Applicant is a minor then, his / her Guardian has to enter into a
Contract of Apprenticeship with the employer.
12. TEST & GRANT OF CERTIFICATE:-
Every trade Apprentice on completion of the training will be granted a certificate of
proficiency by the National Council, on passing a test conducted by the National
Council for Training in Vocational Trades to determine his proficiency in the
Designated Trade.
13. No Hostel accommodation will be provided and selected Applicants will have to make
their own arrangement during their training as per Apprentice Act 1961 and they will
be released on completion of the training.
14. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:-
14.1 The decision of the Railway administration in all matters relating to eligibility,
acceptance or rejection of the applications, mode of selection and allotment of
Division/Workshop etc. shall be final.
14.2 No extra correspondences for engagement will be entertained.
14.3 Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidature and no correspondence will be
entertained in the matter.
14.4 Before applying, the Applicants should ensure that he/she fulfills the eligibility and
other criteria. If erroneously engaged, such Applicants shall be summarily dismissed
without notice at any stage.
14.5 Candidature of the Applicants shall be cancelled if he/she fails to produce the
required original testimonials for verification or any other discrepancy noticed.

14.6 Before applying, the Applicants should ensure that he/she fulfills the eligibility and
other criteria. If erroneously engaged, such Applicants shall be summarily
TERMINATED without notice at any stage.
14.7 No daily allowance / conveyance allowance or travelling allowance will be paid to the
Applicants called for Document Verification.
14.8 After selection for engagement, request of Applicants to change the Trade/ Division /
Workshop will not be entertained. They will be posted within the jurisdiction of the
concerned Division / Workshop only.
(i) Applicants will be trained only for the Trade in which they have been selected
(ii) Applicants selected for training will not be allowed to withdraw from training except
for reasons, which are beyond their control
(iii) Those who will fully absent themselves are liable to refund the whole cost of their
training as well as the amount paid as stipend as determined by the Central
Apprenticeship Advise.
CANDIDATES ARE ADVISEDTO VISIT THE OFFICIAL WEBSITES OF RRC/ PRAYAGRAJ
REGULARLY FOR ALL UPDATES.
16. IMPORTANT ADVISORY:-
Applicants will be selected purely as per merit. Railway Recruitment Cell, North
Central Railway has not appointed any Agents for action on its behalf. Applicants are
warned not to fall under the lure against any such claims being made by
Persons/Agencies.
IMPERSONATION / SUPPRESSION OF FACTS – WARNING:-
Any Applicants found using unfair means of any kind in the Document Verification,
sending someone else in his / her place to appear in the Document Verification and
attempt to impersonate will be disqualified.
Applicants found submitting forged/fake certificates/documents of any kind for
securing eligibility and/or obtaining privileges shall lead to rejection of their
candidature.
Applicants shall not bring in or attempt to bring in any political or other influence to
further his / her interest in respect of the engagement. Candidature of such
Applicants is liable to be rejected.
17. LEGAL MATTERS:
Any legal matter arising out of this Employment Notice shall fall within the legal
jurisdiction of Central Administrative Tribunal, Allahabad only.
The ONLINE application process is a serious matter for engagement of Apprentices
for Training. The applicants are expected to take it in all seriousness. Any attempt by
the applicants to manipulate the process by furnishing false information or mischief
by uploading obscene / objectionable photograph or matter shall be dealt severely
and they shall be liable for criminal action, besides other administrative action.
Beware of Touts and job racketeers trying to deceive you by false promises of securing
job in Railways either through influence or by use of unfair or unethical means. Please
beware of unscrupulous elements and do not fall in their trap.

not be suffering from any disease which is likely to be aggravated by service or is likely
to render him unfit for service or endanger the health of the public. He should also be

Candidates should satisfy the following minimum standards, namely:- Height : 137
centimetres; Weight: 25.4 Kilogram; Chest expansion should not be less than 3.8
centimetres irrespective of size of chest:
Provide that where a candidate does not satisfy the said minimum
standards but is certified in writing by a Medical Officer not below the rank of an
Assistant Surgeon (Gazetted), to be physically fit for being engaged as an apprentice in a

ALIMENTARY SYSTEM:
1. Candidates should have sufficient number of natural teeth ( in healthy state)
for mastication.
2. Spleen should not be palpably enlarged and there should be no evidence of
tenderness in the splenic area.
3. Liver should not be palpable or tender.
4. There should be no oral sepsis.
5. There should be no sugar in the urine.
6. Candidates should not be suffering from hemorrhoids, fissures in and testis anal
hernia or bubonocele or Ischia-rectal abscess or hydrocele.

CARDIO VASCULAR SYSTEM:
1. Blood pressure should not exceed 85 diastolic and 140 systolic.
2. Candidates with low blood pressure (i.e. systolic below 100) should be rejected.
3. There should be no sign of any cardiovascular disease.

RESPIRATORY SYSTEM:
Candidates should be free from all diseases of respiratory system. There should be no
deformity of chest which may cause impediment to breathing.

GENITO URINARY SYSTEM
There should be no evidence of genito urinary disease or any abnormality.

SKELETAL SYSTEM:
1. The function of all limbs should be within normal limits.
2. There should be no evidence of serious deformity of the spinal column or of the
extremities.

NERVOUS SYSTEM:
There should be no evidence of any disease of nervous system or of any mental disease.

GLANDULAR SYSTEM:
There should be no evidence of tuberculosis or other disease of the glandular system
including the endocrine glands.
